First good news of 2014. Last month I published an article about Fannie Mae’s new Loan Level Price Adjustments (LLPAs) and the impact they would have on Mortgage Rates in Ohio.
Good News Ohio! On Monday Mel Watt was sworn in as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), which oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. His first notable action….you guessed it, he delayed the implementation of the new fees.
Director Watt stated that he will being conducting a thorough evaluation of the proposed fee increase to gauge the impact on the mortgage market. Time will tell if, or when, the fee hikes will take place, but it isn’t going to be now.
